**** TLS PC Link ****** This Readme file applies to both the NT4 and Win 2000 TLS PC Link Printer Drivers. Revision History Version 1.08 First Release INSTALLATION NOTES Note: Make sure to UNINSTALL old versions of the TLS PC Link Printer Driver before installing a new version. Refer to UNINSTALL NOTES below. To install the TLS PC Link Printer Driver: From the Windows taskbar, select Start -> Run. Navigate to the Setup.exe file. Follow the prompts. UNINSTALL NOTES You must uninstall old versions of the TLS PC Link Driver BEFORE installing new versions of the driver on your PC. To remove the driver: From the Windows taskbar, select Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs. Remove the TLS PC Link Driver. COMMUNICATIONS (PORT) SETTINGS Communications (PORT) settings for the printer are: · Baud Rate = 9600 · Data Bits = 8 · Parity = N · Stop Bits = 1 · Handshaking = Hardware Flow Control To set or verify communications (PORT) settings: From the Windows taskbar, select Start -> Settings -> Printers. Click on TLS PC Link From the Printer menu, select Properties. Click on the Details tab, then select Port Settings. CUSTOM SETTINGS TAB The features contained in the driver's Custom Settings Page are described below. To access Custom Settings: From the Windows taskbar, select Start -> Settings -> Printers. Click on TLS PC Link. From the Printer menu, select Properties. Click on the Custom Settings tab. Top of Form Adjustment Use this adjustment to change the top margin of the label. The allowable range is -0.25 to +0.48 inch. Horizontal Form Adjustment Use this adjustment to change the left margin of the label. The allowable range is -0.25 to +0.48 inch. Cut Position Adjustment This setting provides a fine adjustment to the cut position. After a label is printed the printer feeds the label to line up with the cutter. If the label is not cut in the desired position, adjust with this setting. Continuous Label Length This setting is used to control the label height for continuous media. This setting is ignored for die cut labels. If the length is set equal to 0.0 then the label length will automatically size up to 6 inches long. This is useful for printing banners of different lengths. Default Setting is 0.0 Continuous Label Feed Distance If a print job has multiple labels (pages), this setting is used to set the distance between successive labels when sent down to the printer as one print job. If a print job only has one label, this setting is ignored and the label is fed 0.25 inches after printing. This setting is ignored for die cut labels. Default Setting is 0.0 Print Density Adjustment The Print Density Adjustment (this is a scroll bar) provides a fine adjustment to the ribbon burn temperature setting. The range is -5 to +5. Firmware Version Click on the Firmware Version button to display the current version of the Firmware loaded in the TLS PC Link printer. Driver Version Click on the Driver Version button to display the current version of the TLS PC Link Printer Driver. ADDING FORMS (PAPERSIZES) TO DRIVER The TLS PC Link Driver has the ability to accept new forms using the Windows built-in features. To add a new form go to Printers -> Server Properties -> Forms and create a new form. Give the new form any name you want. The next time you load the printer driver the new form should appear automatically in the Papersize list. The forms must be a minimum of 0.05" wide x 0.05" high and a maximum of 1.89" wide x 5.94" high. The printer resolution is 203 DPI in both the vertical and horizontal directions. TIP: If the new form does not appear, double-check the size values.They may be outside of the allowable size, in which case they are not displayed.
